2019 Royalty
King Gavin + Queen Delaney
Gavin is the 12 year old son of Jennifer & Donnie Moore and Brian & Jenna Sims. He enjoys playing his Xbox, singing, watching football, drawing, and taking day trips riding with his grandfather sight-seeing. He also enjoys creating pottery with his grandmother. Born with Spina Bifida, at USA Children's and Women's Hospital, Gavin has endured nearly 30 procedures and surgeries combined. His mother often tells him, "You are strong, you are brave, and you CAN do anything!" Gavin's bravery and strong-will has inspired many, and he touches the hearts of everyone he meets. Gavin wants to be an orthopaedic surgeon when he grows up...
Delaney is 13 and the daughter of Michael and Jenni Zimlich. She enjoys reading, crochet, baking, water skiing, Girl Scouts, painting, and wheelchair racing. She loves going to the veterinary clinic with her Dad where she helps volunteer and love on the all the critters. She has a home filled with love, pets and family. She was the Alabama Children’s Miracle Network ambassador for the state of Alabama 2016-2017. Born with Spina Bifida, she was admitted for emergency surgery at USA Children’s and Women’s Hospital on her first day of life. She was cared for in their NICU for 2 weeks and has had several surgeries since. She has become lifelong friends with her physicians and nurses. Her motto is to “Have courage and be kind”!

Queen Shandy and King Art
Shandy is the daughter of Casey and Sam Platt, She enjoys volunteering at the YMCA and South Baldwin Hospital. Shandy possesses a true passion for Wheelchair Racing, and Health and Fitness. She participates in wheelchair racing as a member of Team Catapult and Global Wheelchair Athletics. She enjoys spending time out on the trails training for races. She also enjoys going to concerts and going on family vacations.
Art was injured in 2006 working in disaster recovery as a tree climber. Art owns and operates a landscaping company known as Yard Art. Art has been using a racing chair for over 8 years and has recently joined the Global Wheelchair Athletics team. He enjoys mentoring young wheelchair athletes and working with them on their goals.
2022 Queen Avery
Avery attends Spanish Fort High School. In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with her friends, swimming in her pool, and dancing in the kitchen with her mom and bonus dad to 80’s rock! She has been taking dance at Susan’s Academy of Dance for many years. She takes lyrical, ballet and hip hop with the assistance of her helper.
2022 King Christopher
Christopher Kula was born in Mobile and is a resident of Coden. He is the son of Dennis and Janice Kula. He attends Anna Booth Elementary School. Christopher plays on a special needs baseball team at Westside Baseball Park. He has also participated in Special Olympics, where he competes in the tennis ball throw and the wheelchair race. He enjoys attending Camp Smile where he gets to swim, ride horses and zip line!
2023 Queen Katelynn Horne and King Brandon Gregory
Brandon Gregory is 21 years old, is a native of Mobile, AL, and currently lives in Fairhope, AL.
In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, watching cooking shows, and creating his own recipes. Is a wheelchair racer with Team Triumph. He has also played wheelchair softball with Westside Park, and he exercises daily to keep his muscles toned and strong. He has three siblings and is the youngest of the three. He has one nephew whom he adores. His mother is his strength of independence, but she says that he is her strength, so they are strength for each other. He has eight sponsors who have joined him for his fishing experiences, and he is a member of the Alabama Spina Bifida Association. Where he loves attending camp every year.
2024 Queen Alyssa Ferguson and King Jeronn Watson
2025 Queen Nellie and King Hugo Nobles
Nellie & Hugo are twins born at 25 weeks and 3 days, tiny but mighty from the very start. Like many micro preemies, they faced early challenges—time on the ventilator, oxygen support, and learning how to feed and grow. While Nellie has continued to thrive, Hugo’s journey has been more complex. He lives with hydrocephalus and has a shunt to manage increased pressure, as well as spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy. Hugo also faces feeding challenges due to gastroparesis and is TPN dependent.
Together, they are an inseparable duo who truly enjoy each other’s company and bring constant smiles and laughter to those around them. Even though Hugo has spent much of his life in surgeries and hospital stays, you’d never know it by his joyful, happy demeanor. Their story is one of resilience, love, and unbreakable twin bonds.
2026 Queen Faith Blackburn and King Asher Lewis
Queen Faith Blackburn
Faith Blackburn is a bright, determined 14-year-old 8th grader at Alabama Connections Academy. She approaches school with enthusiasm and joy, where she has a special love for her teacher, Mrs. Lezon, interpreters, and classmates. Faith brings positivity into every space she enters. Faith was born in Lander, Wyoming, and proudly represents the Wind River Indian Reservation. She is enrolled in the Northern Arapaho Tribe and also carries the heritage of the Eastern Shoshone and Winnebago Tribes. Her Native identity is a deep source of pride, and she embraces her culture and traditions with love. From birth, Faith has lived with Caudal Regression Syndrome, a rare condition that affects her spine and brings a range of complex medical challenges. Despite this, she has never allowed her disability to define her or limit her spirit. Faith’s resilience is one of her most remarkable qualilties and she faces every obstacle with courage, humor, and a fierce determination to keep moving forward. Recently, Faith discovered a passion for wheelchair tennis and adaptive sports, where she continues to grow and shine. She also enjoys everything life has to offer: church, traveling, experiencing new things, driving around, playing Roblox, watching WWE, going to therapy, celebrating Mardi Gras, cooking, helping her mom, spending time with her family, and relaxing at Pensacola Beach. Her smile is famous among those who know her bright, constant, and contagious. Faith is known for her big heart, her go-getter attitude, and her ability to bring joy wherever she goes. Her mom describes her as “one of the strongest people I know” and that strength shows in everything she does. Faith has been through more in her young life than many experience in a lifetime, yet she continues to lead with love, courage, and an unbreakable spirit. Faith is deeply loved by her family, her community, and everyone lucky enough to meet her. She is a reminder that strength comes in many forms and that joy can thrive even in the face of challenges. Proud parents are Tianna Armour and the late Susan Johnston, Big sister Jessika, and Little sister Olivia! Faith has been a blessing to our family.
King Asher Lewis
Asher is a resilient 7-year-old with a smile that can light up a room. He perseveres through the challenges and different abilities that life handed him at such a young age. He and his family live by the quote “focus on the abilities” while they take on the world to promote inclusion and defy the odds. Asher loves to travel, dance, and can almost always be found watching Micky Mouse Clubhouse. His lucky number is 7. This is his 7th year of life and is being crowned the 7th Krewe of Kindness King.
